The Weekly Crime Report includes analysis related to:
Reported crime trends and year-to-date comparisons
Calls for service patterns
Traffic crashes and roadway safety indicators
Identified hotspot areas based on reported activity
Emerging or ongoing public safety concerns
All data is compiled and reviewed by the Lorain Police Department Crime Analysis Unit using reported incidents and calls for service during the specified timeframe. Figures may be subject to change as reports are updated, reclassified, or investigations continue.
This report is shared to support transparency, inform the community, and demonstrate how crime analysis is used to guide enforcement strategies, prevention efforts, and resource deployment.

The Lorain Police Department now offers a secure online crime tip submission portal that allows residents to share information related to criminal activity anonymously.
This portal provides an additional way for community members to submit tips safely and confidentially. Information submitted through the portal is reviewed by Lorain Police Department personnel and may assist with ongoing investigations and public safety efforts.
Residents are encouraged to use this tool if they have information they would like to share but are hesitant to come forward in person.

The Ohio Traffic Safety Office has released its latest TrafficWise update highlighting ongoing traffic safety initiatives and data for 2025. The update includes year-to-date confirmed traffic fatalities for 2025, as reflected in the featured image accompanying this post.
