If this is an emergency or a crime in progress, call 911 immediately.
Do not use online reporting for emergencies.
Is Online Reporting Right for You?
The Lorain Police Department offers online reporting for certain non-emergency incidents.
You may file a report online only if the following are true:
- This is NOT an emergency.
- The incident occurred within LORAIN city limits.
- There are NO known suspects.
- A police officer does NOT need to respond to the scene.
If you answered “YES” to any of the above, online reporting may not be appropriate.

Incidents That Can Be Reported Online
- Lost Property
- Harassing Phone Calls
- Criminal Damage
- Theft
- Private Property Accidents (non-injury)

What to Expect After You Submit
Once your report is completed:
- You will see confirmation that your report has been submitted
- You will receive a tracking number
- You may print a temporary copy of the report for your records
Important Information
- All reports submitted online are reviewed by the Lorain Police Department
- If additional investigation is required, you may be contacted
- Filing a false police report is a criminal offense
