Beginning in fall 2025, the City of Lorain began construction on improvements to the “Hot Waters” Boat Launch, the only free public boat launch in the region and a heavily used access point to Lake Erie and the Black River. The project includes replacing the aging boat ramp and docks, constructing a new boat ramp exit to improve traffic flow, and installing a pavilion with two ADA-compliant fish cleaning stations. A bait shop or concession space is also planned within the pavilion and will be available for lease. Additional improvements include new restrooms and upgraded lighting.
