Cleanup Efforts
The Stove Works site was once the former National Vapor Stove and Manufacturing Company site, which was originally developed in 1894 and used for industrial purposes until approximately 1981. The property, now vacant, underwent remediation between July and September 2023 under an Ohio Department of Development award. During this process, approximately 2,850 cubic yards of impacted soil were excavated and removed to meet Ohio VAP Residential Land-Use standards.
The City continues to invest in the site's redevelopment, collaborating with the Ohio Department of Development to complete final remediation activities in 2025 and establish a final development plan.
