Rick Soto, Member

Rick has been a resident of the City of Lorain for over 50 years. He attended Lorain City Schools, graduating from Lorain Southview High School in 1983.

Rick served in the U. S. Army as a Topographic Engineer, serving in Hawaii, Virginia, and Stuttgart, Germany. After separating from active duty, he continued to serve his state with the Ohio Army National Guard.

Rick is retired from the Lorain Police Department, having served as a police officer, Sergeant and Lieutenant. He began his career in Road Patrol, and then served assignments in the Traffic Division, (Traffic Commissioner), Crisis Negotiation Team (Team Commander), Staff Officer and Safety Town instructor.

 Rick is a graduate of the Police Executive and Administrative Leadership School, Ohio Police Officers Training Academy, and OPOTA Traffic Crash Reconstruction School.

He is currently a Trustee with the Mexican American Citizens Club, and former Vice-President of the Lorain International Association. Rick is a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Lorain Lodge #3. He was recognized by the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs as a Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan Leader.

Rick is proud to have been able to serve his country, state and city during his career.
