Beth Henley has served as the First Ward Councilwoman since January 1, 2018. She currently serves as the vice-chairperson of the Building & Lands and Police, Fire & Legislative committees and is a member of the Parks & Recreation Committee. Beth was born in Memphis, TN, coming to Lorain as a child. She has lived in the First Ward for almost 50 years.

Beth attended St. John’s elementary school through second grade and St. Anthony of Padua though eighth grade. She is a proud 1973 graduate of Lorain High School. She attended LCCC.

She recently retired as Operations Manager after 29 years with the same company, having worked in the building and housing industry for over 40 years. This includes a strong background in new construction and commercial property management, and other related ancillary businesses. With retirement she is able to devote more time to the residents of her ward in the City of Lorain.

Beth is the proud mother of three successful adult children, sons Rob and John, and daughter Katie and proud grandma of 10 grandchildren. Wife to Bill, who is retired. Bill is a proud Vietnam era veteran; he served in the United States Navy, on the USS Forrestal.

Long active in the community and various organizations.

Beth is committed to addressing quality of life issues for the residents of her ward and to stabilizing our neighborhoods.
