Four New Police Officers Sworn In


On Friday, June 8, 2012, four new police officers were sworn in by Mayor Chase Ritenauer.  All four officers recently graduated from the Cleveland Heights Police Academy.  With the hiring of these additional officers, it will bring the number of Police Officers up to 100.

Officers, pictured from left to right are:

Officer Jamie Ball

Born and lived in Lorain entire life.  Attended Clearview High School, graduated in 2007.  Attended University of  Toledo receiving Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice in 2010.  Began working for Homeland Security – TSA April of 2010. 


Officer Chris Ferenzi

Born and raised in Lorain.  Graduated from Admiral King High School in 1995.   Two children.  Lived in Fort Collins, Colorado from 1999 to 2006, then relocated back to Lorain.  Worked in Lorain City Jail as a Correction Officer in 2008. 


Officer Brent Payne

Resident of Elyria entire life.  Married to Rebecca Payne for 8 years, who is an officer with the City of Brunswick Police Department.   Worked for Lorain County Sheriff’s Office from 1999 to 2011 in the Law Enforcement Division.   Brother , Craig, is K-9 Officer for Lorain Police Department.


Officer Tony Cambarare

Graduated from LCCC with associates in Criminal Justice and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s at Youngstown State in Criminal Justice.  Graduated from Amherst Steele High School in 2001.  His father, Russ, recently retired as a Captain from Lorain Police and his grand-father, who recently passed, away, had served 50 years with the Lorain Police Auxiliary,  as a Major.
