Unsolved Homicide Reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the shooting deaths of two Lorain teenagers, as well as the city's other unsolved homicides.

CRIME ALERT: Auto Break-Ins

 
During the first five months of 2009 there have been 174 auto break-ins or auto-trespass complaints filed with the Lorain Police Department. The break-ins are happening throughout the City.

In these cases, the culprits are breaking auto window glass to grab valuables or are entering vehicles that are left unlocked. To make yourself less vulnerable the Lorain Police Department would like to make the following recommendations:

• Do not leave valuables in your vehicle • Remove all CD's, loose change, portable GPS systems, clothing cellular phones and other similar equipment from your vehicle • Do not leave personal information inside of your vehicle such as social security card, driver's license, vehicle titles, due to identity theft • Lock all vehicle doors and roll up all windows • Park in well lit area or areas of high visibility • Report suspicious activities in parking lots to the Lorain Police Department immediately • Try to obtain as much information as possible to give to police, such as vehicle description and direction of travel • If your car is broken into notify police
