July Vaccines Dates from your Health Department

The Lorain County General Health District is offering vaccines for children, adolescents, and adults during the month of July 2017. Vaccine clinics will be held at the following dates & locations: • Mondays, Tuesdays, & Fridays, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Lorain County General Health District, 9880 South Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria **No clinic on July 4th in observance of Independence Day** • Wednesday, July 5, 11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Lorain County General Health District, 9880 South Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria • Wednesday, July 12, 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Wellington Town Hall, 115 Willard Memorial Square, Wellington • Wednesday, July 19, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Avon VFW, 36950 Mills Rd., Avon • Tuesday, July 25, 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Harrison Cultural Community Centre, 1922 Hamilton Ave., Lorain • Wednesday, July 26, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Lorain County General Health District, 9880 South Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria Travel-related vaccines and resources are available by appointment. Clinic times and dates are subject to change. Call 440-284-3206 to check clinic times or to make an appointment. Walk-ins welcome. All children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Bring current immunization record, insurance card, and cash, check or Visa/MasterCard. LCGHD participates in the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program to provide vaccines to children that qualify. No child in the VFC program is turned away for inability to pay. additional information

Hydrant Testing in the City of Lorain

The Lorain Fire Department will be testing fire hydrants throughout the City of Lorain from May 1, 2017, through October 1, 2017.  Testing will be conducted weekdays between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. full story
 

Snow and Ice Control Procedures

 The City of Lorain has established a Snow and Ice Control Procedures manual for use by city employees.  This manual will establish the City's policy and level of service in respect to the management of snow or ice and maintenance of its road system during winter months.  It is also meant to inform the citizens of Lorain on how the City will handle snow occurrences.  The manual is attached for your review and reference.  Also attached for your information is a list of streets we salt. additional information

Ohio Fire Code (2011) Section 105

Beginning January 1, 2016, those requiring Fire Department Permits will find we are utilizing the list attached.  This list, while lengthy, is a concise, easy to follow summary.  Your 2016 permit applications have been mailed with an updated designation for the permit(s) designation(s) you held in the past; however, you may find that this list indicates other areas for which you need to apply for additional permits.  We welcome your inquiries for clarification of areas of concern to you, but we hope this clarifies the permit process. full story
