Permitting in the Waterfront Arts and Entertainment District

Persons and/or businesses seeking to apply for liquor permits in the newly established Waterfront Arts and Entertainment District ("Waterfront Entertainment District") should visit the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Liquor Control's website at:  http://www.com.ohio.gov/liqr/.  Click on "Licensing" and in the drop-down select "Retailer (New)" and "Community Entertainment District- D5J."  Applicants are required to provide the proposed location that is located within the established "Waterfront Arts and Entertainment District."  As a reference, a map providing the location of the properties included in the Waterfront Entertainment District is provided.  Additional questions pertaining to the application process should be directed to the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Liquor Control, 614-644-2360.   additional information
 

2nd Annual Police & Fire Ball

 The 2nd Annual Lorain Fire & Vice Ball will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at DeLuca's Place in the Park.  This event is sponsored by the Lorain Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #3 and the Lorain Professional Firefighters Local 267.   full story
 

COLLEGE OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR

Mayor Ritenauer's Scholarship Fund is offering all high school seniors who reside in the City of Lorain the opportunity to receive a minimum of a $500 scholarship to assist with college expenses.  Students are encouraged to submit an application for one of the four different scholarship categories offered.  Scholarship details can be found at http://www.cityoflorain.org/mayor/scholarship . full story

Snow and Ice Control Procedures Manual

The City of Lorain has established a Snow and Ice Control Procedures manual for use by city employees. This manual will establish the City's policy and level of service in respect to the management of snow or ice and maintenance of its road system during winter months. It also meant to inform the citizens of Lorain on how the City will handle snow occurrences. full story
