SCHEDULING FUNERALS
Opening and Closing: Requires 24 hour notice and should be made by 12:00 p.m. prior to the next business day.
Less than 24 hour notice will require a $200.00 fee. Scheduling may only occur during regular work hours.

- The City of Lorain reserves the right in the sale or burial of a single grave, to designate the location of such.
- Notice of burial must be made to the cemetery at least 24 hours prior.
- Payment MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO BURIAL at the Department of Public Safety and Service, 200 West Erie Avenue, 7th Floor, Lorain, Ohio 44052, whereupon a burial permit will be issued. The burial permit must be presented to the employees at Elmwood Cemetery prior to the burial.
- No burials on Sundays, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Services not listed above are considered an exception and shall be treated individually.
