High Grass Reporting Online

The citizens of the City of Lorain can now report high grass violations via E-mail. The height of the grass must exceed 10 inches before the City will notify owners. The E-mails will be directed to the City of Lorain Building Department for follow up.

Once the building department gets a complaint, a city worker will inspect the site to verify the tall grass exceeds 10 inches. Then the city will send a notice to the property owner, who has five days to mow the lawn. If there is no further action, the building department sends the information to Lorain's street department, which has a crew to cut grass.

The E-mail should give as accurate location as possible - street addresses work best, also street names and lane direction (i.e. north, south, east, west).
