Reclaiming Downtown Lorain Event
Rey Carrion, Acting Director, City of Lorain, Community Development Department
With your help, the wonderful people of Lorain and Lorain County will be Reclaiming Downtown Lorain. This event will take place on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 7am to 5pm. Our goal is to spruce up and showcase our main Broadway corridor prior to the upcoming summer festival season.
The target area is Broadway from West 21st Street to West Erie Avenue. Work includes cleaning, landscaping, and painting of buildings. We need your help! This is a great project which promotes goodwill and community pride. Several groups have agreed to adopt a building for a much needed facelift!
The following groups have pledged their support for this special event: Home Depot, Lowes (Lorain & Elyria), WalMart, Best Buy of Elyria, City of Lorain, Lorain National Bank, Ford Motor Company, Lions Club, Elks Lodge, Gold Country WOBL, Campana Management, All American Demolition, Lorain Arts Council, Lorain County Ironmen, Lorain Port Authority, Bootlegger’s Den, Lorain Growth Corporation, The Morning Journal, and many more. Please join us.
