Eric Barnes' Heroes Walk Construction Underway

Dan Biber, Lorain Growth

The Charleston Village Society has partnered with the Black River Historical Society, Lorain Growth Corporation, the City of Lorain and Lorain Utilities to construct a natural walk way joining Settlers Watch at 2nd and Oberlin with the Admiral King Tribute Space at First and Hamilton. This walk way is called the Eric Barnes' Heroes Walk and will honor the servicemen from Lorain who have died fighting for their country, and city. This is a volunteer and donation based project that needs all the help it can get from funds, to time.

We will be announcing a plant day for people to drop off plants and bushes to line the walk way and the landscaped mounds that will be put in place as the project continues. Also anyone who would like to help out - we are hoping for the designation of the walkway to be held November 11th - 2012 at approximately 11 am.

Checks should be made out to the Charleston Village Society 1127 W 4th Street, Lorain Ohio 44052 - please mark in the memo portion of the check "Heroes Walk".
