Reclaiming Downtown Lorain Event

With your help, the wonderful people of Lorain and Lorain County will be Reclaiming Downtown Lorain.  This event will take place on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 7am to 5pm.  Our goal is to spruce up and showcase our main Broadway corridor prior to the upcoming summer festival season. full story

Shred Unwanted Papers Free At Main Library In Lorain During Community Shred Day

The Friends of the Lorain Public Library, Inc. are sponsoring a free Community Shred Day, Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Lorain Public Library  System's Main Library's parking lot, at 351 W. Sixth Street, Lorain. Shred any unwanted papers and avoid becoming a victim of identity theft. full story

Eric Barnes' Heroes Walk Construction Underway

The Charleston Village Society has partnered with the Black River Historical Society, Lorain Growth Corporation, the City of Lorain and Lorain Utilities to construct a natural walk way joining Settlers Watch at 2nd and Oberlin with the Admiral King Tribute Space at First and Hamilton. This walk way is called the Eric Barnes' Heroes Walk and will honor the servicemen from Lorain who have died fighting for their country, and city. This is a volunteer and donation based project that needs all the help it can get from funds, to time. full story
