Thanksgiving Holiday

11/18 -- In observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday on November 26 and 27, 2008, Lorain City Hall offices will be closed
Parks and Recreation Department collecting food for 2nd Harvest Food Bank

11/16 -- The Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with the 2nd Harvest Food Bank for this Holiday season. In addition to previous 2nd Harvest dropout points, community members can now drop off canned goods and other non-perishable food items at the Parks and Recreation downtown office, located at 329 W. 10th Avenue. The collection will end the last Friday before Christmas Day.
Lorain Youth Football Concludes Season with Championship Games

11/16 -- TheSteel City Youth Football League held its championship games on Saturday November 8th in both the Pee – Wee division as well as the Junior division. Both games were hard fought defensive battles, as fundamentals and gap discipline were on display.

11/13 -- There is a new organization, called the Downtown Lorain Christmas Decorating Council that has been meeting since the beginning of March, 2009, in an effort to plan a great Christmas decorating for downtown Lorain this Christmas. The council has been formed under the auspices of The Lorain Tourism Council, which is under the Lorain Growth Corporation. We meet every Monday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the conference room at the Footprint Tours, Inc., 401 Broadway Avenue, Lorain.
